Road to Wellness Training 2020
COVID-19, “The Rona Era”
This is week three of the Road To Wellness Free running clinic with the Dimock Center and the B.A.A. This is officially the first day of summer and it’s hot. The clinic starts at 8:45a.m, which is already too late, in Franklin Park.
It was good to see the coaches and all the people who came out, wearing mask and having their jogging shoes ready. I did acupuncture the day before and I’m still a bit sore. I wanted to see what I could do. There were three groups. The walkers, interment , and advanced. I went with the advance but I knew I shouldn’t.
We ran about a mile and a half, maybe two. We ran up hill and learned about pacing and when it “ kick in the power”. I was in the back of the pack in the advance group. When I run, I run solo. There is something about being with a group of people which is more motivation. Not competition but motivation to push myself. I go more so for the community and encouragement that we share with each other.
