Running with words and RTW training crew
There is a Excessive Heat Warning today in Boston that will last until Sunday night. Today is also the Road to Wellness 5k running clinic at 9a.m. At 5:30a.m. it was 85 degrees and the weather report said it will feel like 91 degrees. This is when I have to be extra careful and mindful when running in this weather. Slow, steady, and hydrated is key.
I hate running late especially in weather like this. To get my body use to the weather, I did a mile run in Dorchester next to South Bay Mall. I ran into Pear Square. I never knew this here. It’s a testament to the people of Dorchester and their history. It was the coolest thing. Many of the words and quotes from the 1700s to 2007s hold so true to this day. Words about immigration, women, housing, education, still so true.
I wonder if anyone goes through here and reads and reflects on this? The people I saw at 8 in the morning were passing through and some might have been homeless.
I will have to go back. Then I headed to Franklin Park for training. We had a good amount of people who showed up. The coaches had to change their running plan for the day because of the heat.
I admit is wasn’t that bad. The coaches made it run and quick. We run a bit and then did some core work, and then would run back again.
The overall running morning was 3 miles or so. Got it all out of the way before it got supper hot, hot
