First Run of SUMMER 2019 ( Part I)
Finally summer is here. The last 48 hours of summer have been a transition for many of friends. One friend last her father, the other left an abusive relationship. In that time I went to a wake, funeral, and picked up my friend to bring her to safety. There have been a lot to think about and process. So today I was able to run and have a moment to take in nature, myself, and my surroundings.
Since this was the first Saturday of Summer, I wanted to run on the beach, along the beach. I drove to Castle Island to run around the island and Carson Beach. Today people were out and about. Walkers, runners, dog walkers, yoga people, fishers, and more.
As I ran I notices the people of color who were being active. I could count, there were 5. There were two african- american women who were walking, who said Hi to me. Some of the men who were walking smiled and greeted me too.
