Saturday Fog, Mist, and Booty Shaking Cow
Foggy, misty, muggy, Saturday am run. For the Saturday re-mix. I wanted to run through the city of Boston- proper. I drove and parked on the other side of the Charles at MIT, my starting point and ran Then I ran down Mass Avenue Tremont street which are two of the main streets throughout the city.
My running city tour took me through several neighborhoods- Backbay, South End, Roxbury. Unfortunately you can tell the inequalities in these neighborhoods. These communities are all close together. All within in a 5 mile radius I noticed the city density with landmarks and differences in communities.
And city landmarks and schools such as the Berklery School of Music, Northeastern University, Roxbury Community College, Whittier Street Health Clinic, Boston Police Headquarters, Dimock Community Health Center Complex, Southwest Corridor Park, Wally's Jazz Club, Marry Baker Eddy Library.
Differences in housing, property, space, green space, trash, people, etc..
I pass these places via car all the time. Running on these streets I saw details and things differently compared to being in a car. For example, I never noticed the cows and the garden next to Whittier Street health Clinic. The cool written messages on the cows was so neat.
I was able to run along the Southwest Corridor Park which is a linear urban park that runs for at least 5 miles.
I was a true urban runner this morning.
