Saturday Long Run : 4 miler
COVID-19, “ The Rona Era”
Sugar it is cold outside. Like really, really cold. I need to move my body. Besides, in theory, I should be use to running in the cold. This is how I started my running journey, running in the cold. We got back from Utah on Jan. 7th. School started on the 13th. I feel tired and I just want to sleep. I know I need to walk/run at least a 5k to get the brain and muscles going. Today, I made my way to the Mystic River Reservation. I had to decide my route. Do I ran towards Charlestown or do I run towards Medford and Somerville? I picked Charlestown because of the miles I wanted to do, this would be the shorter route.
It was quiet outside. I did pass some people on the Charlestown track doing running drills, in this weather. Ha! I should talk. Since this is the last weekend of having a democracy, I made my way to Bunker Hill monument. I wasn’t planning on a mini hill workout but I got one. It’s good to know my level of fitness/hill work.
As I was running toward Bunker Hill, a black woman, smiled at me and said keep going. Always representing. That made me smile. I appreciate her comment.
I did good for a while but running back, my leg was not a happy girl. We had to do some interval running.
Because I had to stop, take pictures, and all the things I do. I ran 4 miles in 51:27. Getting that baseline.
I ran 4 miles and moved this body of mine = winning.
