COVID-19, “The Rona Era”

On tap for today’s training is 20 miles. Last Saturday, I was able to run/walk 14. I was hoping to run 6 more miles. This week has been a non active running week. Plus I did not get a sports massage or acupuncture. The only new thing this week was going to PT. All of that to say, I was not sure how my leg would do.

I thought running to Castle Island, Carson Beach, and by UMASS Boston would get me close to 20 miles. The first 6-7miles was ok. I got to a point where I had to run/walk. Then I said F- this shit and I had to walk. I walked the last 4 miles. I was not sure what was going on with my knee. The week before I was about to run/walk the 14 miles in good time. I think it was 2 hours and 38 minutes. Today, It took over 3 and a half hours to do 15 miles. I was struggling a bit.

I hate this!! Today was a gorgeous morning for a run. Just perfect. My left leg was ready to go. She felt strong. But this right one…grrrrr. I love having the morning to myself. I was so motivated to run. That was not in the cards this morning. I have to be humble about this. To be honest I worry about running/walking 26.2 miles with this knee. I have two more weeks and I need to listen to my body. If I need to not run in that time and just rest and get treatment, then that is what I’m going to have to do.

3:45:39; 14.87 miles; 15:11ave pace; 1,583 cals burned.
