Muggy, Foggy, Saturday
COVID-19, “ The Rona Era”
It rained all day, on and off on Friday. Today, Saturday, the foggy, muggy, and leftovers from Friday’s weather, I am feeling. The BAA half training plan has 4 miles for today. The weather made it a bit of a challenge. I was out running by 6:30a.m. Plus, I had technical difficulties with my ear buds not working and not having a pocket to store my key. I can fix that. To add, I need to get new Brooks running shoes. No excuses. I still ran along the Charles and through MIT for 4 miles. It wasn’t pretty but I did it.
Running along the Esplanade, I literally ran into a 5k race that was setting up for today. This time of day, runners were out and about. To my happy surprise, I saw the most black women I have ever seen run along the Charles. By the most, I saw four. We all acknowledge each other as we passed. Plus I ran into B, from Pioneers run crew. When he saw me, he gave me some words of encouragement and motivation clap.
I do feel as if I am out of “ running/racing” shape. I know I need to do better with water and nutrition. Sunday I’ll run another 4 miles and hopefully that will be better than today.
Today wasn’t bad. 11:08 pace and 41.15 time for a 3.70. Then I ran .40 at 11:12pace. This girl was tired. It’s about process not perfection.
