Summer morning on a Fall day
COVID-19, “ The Rona Era”
Summer is going to visit Boston for a couple of days. It is already 60 degrees before 5:30a.m. It’s still dark, it’s still fall. I equip myself with my headlight, t-shirt, and caprice running pants. My body and mood are not in it this morning. My period is coming , I’m attune to the hormonal changes that are happening. I’m up. I’m going to make an effort to run 8 miles. That is the training mileage for the half marathon in two weeks.
The cool, warmness was good. I ran along the waterfront. Taking in the urban water views, then the leaves, artwork, and over all scenery was needed. It was beautiful and quiet. After the second mile, I felt good. Strong. I had a rhythm going. Eatting pasta last night was just what I needed to keep my body fueled to run.
Sunrise is 7:05 a.m. Running from dark to light always makes me happy. Then I went from the quiet of the morning to the hustle and bustle of the morning as children walked to school, school busses and cars increased, and people walking the street or waiting the for bus. It got busy.
I tried to get up earlier to run 8 miles before the business of the morning. Clearly that did not happen. I had to get home , shower, and change for my 9 a.m. hair appointment. I ran 6.33 miles.
4.20; 45:54; 10:55 pace and 2.03 miles ; 21:42; 10:43 pace. Not bad. The goal is 10 miles on Saturday. It’s going to be a warm summer like morning again.
