Readjusting Thursday
COVID-19, ‘The Rona Era”
The plan for this morning was 7 miles. When I went to bed, I was mentally ready to run 7 miles in the morning.
But what happened was……………..
I was tired. The Iowan could see it in my eyes. I felt tired. Early this morning I was up at 5 a.m. But I went back to sleep. I planned on running around Mystic River Reservations. I knew I had to drive and and deal with traffic. That didn’t matter, I needed my rest. Around 5:45a.m., I got myself up, dressed, coffee’d and ready to go. As expected traffic. I didn’t get to my running spot until 6:24a.m.
The colors in the sky were just so beautiful that I take a moment to take it all in. Instead of running around the Mystic River , I ran towards Charlestown and Bunker Hill Monument. This a perfect 50 degree fall morning to run.
My last run through Charlestown and Bunker Hill ended with me losing my car keys. That was not going to happen this time.
From Mystic to Bunker Hill is a bit over 2 miles. It was around 7:06 when I arrived. Thursday mornings at 7 a.m. is when I talk with Beverly. I’m normally finish with my run by then. Not today. I called her and gave her the 411 on why I was late this morning. I walked and talked with her for a mile before we hung up and I continued to run.
Overall I ran 5 miles. By mile it was after 8 a.m. I had work to do. More people and cars were popping up everywhere. The goal is 10 miles on Saturday morning.
I ran the course like a boss lady. I still moved and got miles in. Bonus, I had extra sleep. Listen to ones body.
Good Fall morning run
