First 10k a.m. humpday of 2023
COVID-19, “ The Rona Era”
It’s time to get back to the 10k a.m. humpday schedule. My marathon training plan for big sur has 6 miles completed every Wednesday at least for the next 3 weeks, then it increases to 7 miles. Getting out of bed to do the miles this morning was a struggle. I had snooze at least three times. It didn’t help that I went to bed late. Hence, tired this morning. Part of training and running healthy and strong is sleep. Tonight I will go to be early.
Once I was up and moving, around 5:45a.m., I was out the door by 6a.m. I was layered up and had my headlight on because it was dark and 22 degrees outside.
It always takes a while before I get into my groove. I looked at my tracker and I was at .80 miles , then 2.47 miles, and then 4.80 miles. I was in a good pace, zone. I can feel that I need new running shoes. My left leg started to feel a bit funny. More stretching, yes. Better shoes, Yes and Yes. Plus I need to make an appointment to get acupuncture started again.
Otherwise, it was a good run. The 22 degrees felt like 36 degrees. I have to keep reminding myself all of this will make me stronger and better for the marathon.
