August 10k a.m. humpday
COVID-19, “The Rona Era”
I’m going to run a seven miler today. That’s the plan. I want to expand my 10k a.m. humpday Wednesday. Besides it’s the first Wednesday of the month, so why not go big. This morning, I was up by 5 a.m. and then I went back to sleep. Again, I debated about running or resting. I know today, I would be out with my crew and tomorrow I have four appointments, starting at 7a.m. So I know I need to run today because I’m not running tomorrow.
I was out the door by 5:57a.m. I did stretch before but I still felt a bit stiff. I’m thankful it was cool out because I know it’s going to get a lot warmer later. I ran from East Boston to Chelsea and back to East Boston. This was a calm none eventful a.m. run. When I reached Breman Street Park, it was around the four mile mark. I was getting tired and it was almost 7 a.m. At this point I knew I would at least get a 10k in. The seven miler would not happen today.
I crossed over bridges and was able to take a moment to smell the sunflowers. Thou I was getting tired I kept going. This is the perfect symbol of my run before radiate journey. After mile 5, I ran for a bit but then I walked. I was still moving and getting my miles in. I ran 6.08 miles for a 10k a.m. humpday run.
6.08 miles, 1:06:11; 10:53 Ave/pace
Mile 1: 11:02
Mile 2: 10:18
Mile 3: 10:40
Mile 4: 10:35
Mile 5: 10:29
Mile 6: 11:28
I have to work on a 7 miler for next week.
Side note:
Today at Radiation: One hit wonders.
