Sand, beach, and sunrise
COVID-19, “The Rona Era”
77 degrees, 5:30 in the morning, and beach was calling my name. This was perfect running, “walking” weather. I arrived at Revere Beach just as the sun was starting to rise above the water. There were so many people on the beach to see the sunrise this morning. I don’t blame them for that. People were sitting on the beach, working out, sitting on benches getting ready for the sun.
I started my 5k walk with the sun following me and Beyonce’s new album, Renaissance playing in my ear. I felt like dancing and running but alas, I can do either. I made sure to have an extra pep in my walking step.
A week ago, the international sand sculpture competition happened. I wondered if the remnants of the sculptures would still be standing. To my delight, they were. I walked on the sand to get a closer look at them since walking on the pavement was to far. Not only did I get a close look at the design of the sculptures, the sand decided to populate my shoes. There is a reason why my shoes felt heavier after I got back on the pavement to walk.
The theme of some of the sculptures were carnival, rebirth, and dinosaurs. All very interesting.
It was a good power walk for Wednesday, in the middle of week two.
