Road to Wellness Graduation Day
COVID-19, “ The Rona Era”
It’s graduation day! I’m so excited. Today ends the Road To Wellness free running clinic. All summer from 9-10:45 a.m. every Saturday, men and women came out to learn how to run , improve their walking, and invest in their overall health. There are five amazing coaches that share their expertise and knowledge each week as participates progress.
Today was the mock trail run for the Road to Wellness 5k on Sept. 10th. Runners and Walkers, signed up, got a bib number, and ran/walked the course.
Since this is the last week of post surgery recovery, I volunteered to help out. Before I showed up for volunteer duty, I walked a mile and a half to get my body moving.
This is the only 5k that I will do. I love this race and the mission. Making health and wellness a priority for communities of color is so important. This race is a certified 5k route and it’s in the heart of Roxbury, a historic black community in the city. It’s a beautiful, fun, and challenging course.
On Sept. 10th, I’ll be at the 5k ready to run.
