Track Tuesday after the 4th

Track Tuesday after the 4th

COVID-19, “The Rona Era”

I wasn’t sure if anyone would be at track workout today because it’s July 5th, the day after 4th of July celebrations. People may be out of town or just decided to sleep in, who knows? I did sign up and I didn’t receive an email cancellation.

I left a bit late because I assume there would not be a lot of traffic and I was right. I arrived in Cambridge at 6:10, plenty of time since we start at 6:35a.m. I parked on Mass Ave, across from the Heartbreakers Running club store and walked the two blocks to the Stadium.

When I walked into the stadium, I was many of the pacers and only one runner. This seemed out. I went to the check in table and asked if we were still doing this today. Everyone said yes, with a smile and laugh.

I chatted with the only other runner there, Sara. Around 6:25, 6:30, everyone came in at once. All the runners walked or biked in around the same time. I guess everyone was having a slow start to the day.

I think there might have been 50 or 75 runners here.

Today we did 15 200s at 5mile, 10k, and marathon pace with a 1 minute break in between. This workout went fast. And of course I was on team red. I appreciate the different running skills I learn and the group running. It turned out to be a good July 5th morning
