7 miler for long run Saturday
COVID-19, “The Rona Era”
I need to do a long run. It’s been a while. Today is the perfect fall morning. Blue sky, light breeze, perfect running temp in the mid 50s. I knew I would be able to a variety of miles if I ran along the Charles River Esplanade. I drove there early to park on memorial drive.
No surprise, all the runners were out. I had on my headlight, which later went out on me. It was a good and steady run. I saw a couple of women running earlier when it was dark without any kind of reflective gear. Men were running together and solo.
What was a surprise, was seeing all the rowers. There were more rowers in the Charles than usual. I wonder what was going on. I couldn’t escape them. It seemed as if they on every corner of the river. Many people were looking and taking photos. I did too.
When I started running, I ran towards the Museum of Science, going towards Boston. Normally I would run in the opposite direction. I did the whole loop around and it was 7 miles. I felt good running 7 miles. I think the most I’ve run is 6 miles post surgery. I did good.
