Sunday Post Blizzard a.m. run
COVID-19, “The Rona Era”
The blizzard has come and gone. Yesterday (Saturday) was crazy. No visibility and the snow kept falling and falling. There was no running in this weather. Thou I did manage a quick walk in the blizzard. I’ll emphasize, “ quick.” Some towns around the area had 30 inches others had 16 inches of snow. I think my town was between 22 and 23 inches of snow. That was yesterday.
Today, the snow has stopped, the streets are quiet and no one is out. I decided to go for a run this morning. It was me and all of the snow plowers that were still keeping an eye on the streets as they were on the roads. It’s 11 degrees out but the snow was soft and fluffy. I made sure to be careful as I ran. All of my running was on the street, facing traffic of course because the sidewalks and greenway were still covered with snow.
I ran from Woburn to Winchester, the next town over and back to Woburn. Post blizzard, the snow looks really pretty and the quiet of the morning just adds to the beauty of the day. I was perfectly layered and the cars that passed me were generous and shared the road with me.
I thought I could do a 10k but the loop total was 5.21 miles. I was good with that. I saw a couple of people walking their dogs but I was the only running on the streets this morning. It was a good strong run for the last Sunday of January 2022.
