Wet and Windy AF Monday
COVID-19, “The Rona Era”
This past weekend the temperature was in single digits. I don’t run when it’s in the single digits and the wind chill has a negative attached to it. Nope and Nope. The body needs to rest anyway. Today is Monday. Today I’m going to start half marathon training. The start of the new week is also the start of Spring Semester. There is a lot going on for Monday. This morning the weather is in the high 30s/mid 40s- great, right! But wait. There is torrential rains and the wind is no joke. Maybe the rain isn’t torrential but with the wind as strong as it is, the rain feels torrential. And to add to the Monday of new starts, today is a two week movement challenge with Trailblazhers co.
I don’t run in the rain. I ran today. My goal was simple. Do one mile. Just one mile. Get in and get out. Did that happened, no. I ran 4.16 miles this morning in the freaking rain. I’m wet and it felt like resistance training with the rain and wind. My ass was the only person out running. I think that says a lot.
Wetness aside, I felt good running. Very steady and strong. This is a good start to day one of training.
