12 degrees = 10k a.m. Boston humpday run
COVID-19, “the Rona Era”
I’m back from 85 degree Puerto Rico to 12 degree Boston…joy. I so enjoyed running in shorts, in January while I still could. The reality is that I’m here, I need to run, and it’s cold. I have 18 weeks until my next state. I thought I need to ease into training, starting today. I want to finish the last two continental states strong. Plus training will help me adjust to the new academic schedule.
Before I left the house this morning, I made sure to layer up. Lots of layers and a headlight because it’s still dark. When I started running this morning, it was not bad. There was no wind. It was a “ solid” kind of cold. I actually got hot while running. My fingers never froze, which is always a good sign. 5:45a.m. is when I left. I ran passed Marverick square, crossed the bridge over to Chelsea. That’s where I found some Wisdom. I kept going to cross over the second bridge. I was still feeling good while running. From Chelsea, I came back to East Boston. Since Brenman Street Park was open I ran through the park. I saw many people walking to catch the T this morning. Brrrrrr. I kept running through the park, past Pier’s Park and through the shipyard and around the harborwalk. I had a lovely tour of my neighborhood this morning. For the most part, it was quiet this morning. I was feeling my pace and groove.
