The bridge and 10k a.m. humpday
COVID-19, “The Rona Era”
The news reported in Massachusetts that there were no deaths due to COVID-19 today. Zero. I believe that was a first. Good news, hopefully people will get vaccinated and we can have nice things again. The news of zero deaths was how I started the morning. The weather is in the low 50s, the streets are quiet, today is a good day to run a 10k. I decided to stay in the neighborhood and run. My car was in a good parking spot and I didn’t want to move it. Tomorrow is street cleaning day. The cleaning days rotate between odd and even weeks for which side of the street will be cleaned. My street is always Thursdays. On the right side of the street( where my house it), the days are the 1st and 3rd thursdays of the month. On the opposite side of the street it’s the 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month. This week is the second thursday of the month. All those cars will be looking for a parking spot on the 1st and 3rd of the month sides. I’m good. I’m staying put.
I dressed very spring like, not hoddie or jacket. Just a long sleeve shirt, hat, and running pants. I ran towards Chelsea and the Chelsea Bridge. This meant going up an incline on the street. I just pushed myself forward and kept on running. When I reached the Chelsea bridge, I had to stop. The bridge was up and a boat was coming through. I forgot that happens some time. While I waited, I had a mini dance party, stretched, and took some selfies. I was feeling good this morning. I knew, eventually I would run across to the other side. Plus, I wasn’t in a hurry because I didn’t have any meetings this morning.
When the bridge came down, I kept on going. Unfortunately, I had to deal with the back log of cars and trucks that were held up because the bridge was up. My quiet morning became loud. I did make it to Brenman street park to finish off the last couple of miles. Around 7 a.m. I started to see the walkers and runners and kids going to school. I now know, 6a.m. is my quiet spring time.
