It's still Hot Girl Summer
COVID-19, “The Rona Era”
Everyone is ready for fall and talking about it as if it’s fall season. No, it’s still summer. I wish people would stop talking about pumpkin spice lattes…it’s not time yet. This morning make it clear, it’s still summer. The humidity was no joke. I wanted to be cool while running, so I made a plan to run on the beach for 10k a.m. humpday run. Fall is knocking on summer’s door but it’s not here yet. Sunrise is now at 6:30a.m. The summer morning light that I love at 5a.m. is fading away. Running on the beach, I had to make sure it wasn’t too dark. I started to run at 5:45a.m. instead of 5 a.m. The light from the business around Revere Beach lit my beach running path.
I saw more people walking their dogs in robes, pjs, flip-flops then I’ve seen before. With all the newly built apartment and condos people can literally walk on the beach from their beds. I did see two black women running together on the beach. We all smiled and said hello. I had questions for them and I wanted to chat. Of course that was not going to happen at 6:30 while we are running.
I felt good. After two miles my pelvic floor loosen up. I just kept a steady pace. I did stop and walk for 30 seconds twice. I walked as the school buses passed me by. I was proud of my run this morning.
