Christmas on a Spring Thursday
COVID-19, “The Rona Era”
Day 4 of walking post surgery and I’m thinking - one hour walk, 5k. That is going to be my baseline moving forward. As of now, it’s cool enough, bright enough, and pleasant enough to walk in my neighborhood. This also creatives a new challenge. Where to walk? Normally I would drive and run. At the moment I can’t drive and walk. Walking is localized. I want to make sure to mix up my one hour 5k routes.
This morning, I just walked. No direction expect to not walk in the directions that I have walked before. Today is trash day, I walked among and around all the trash. I kept thinking why is there so much trash. Monday, Memorial day was a holiday, that is why there is so much trash. My route took me around the outside of the stadium, past Embassy Suites hotel towards the rental car center.
A man in a black SUV asked me a question. I went over, cautiously to answer him. He was trying to get into the rental car center to help his mother is who flying in from Vegas to rent a car. He was worried that she wouldn’t know how to leave the garage. That sounded kind of odd to me. I explained the process from the airport to the rental car center and she would be fine.
Leaving him, I continued to the East Boston Greenway on the waterfront. The last three days of rain had the water levels extremely high along the greenway path. This morning there was plenty of boat activity as the waves moved back and forth.
Beside waves, birds were flying around, bunnies were hopping, and there was an angry bird in one of the trees.
Walking adventures seem no different than running adventures…just less miles. :)
