Father's Day and Summer is coming later tonight

COVID-19, “ The Rona Era”

Summer is here. Hot girl summer is here. I’m not ready. This would be a great morning to run to celebrate Father’s Day and the start of summer. Alas, that is not my situation. No running yet. I slept in this morning and the price to pay for that is walking in higher temperatures. I guess I will just have to deal with it.

My plan for walking in the summer is staying close to water. This morning, I realized I hadn’t been in Charlestown for a while it’s close to the water. I drove to Cambridge so I could start my walk towards Charlestown underneath the Zakim bridge.

From the Zakim bridge I picked up the red line of the freedom trail which leads to the charlestown Naval Yard. I didn’t feel a breeze this morning. I did feel the sun on top of my head and in my face. The glasses worked but I need to add a running heat to my attire.

Slowly, the walkers and runners started to come out. It is a gorgeous day this morning. Blue sky, sun, boats, and flowers are popping. I just wish it wasn’t so dang hot at 7:00a.m. I’m getting the cool part of the day.

Afterwards, I was sparkling with sweat to welcome the beginnings of hot girl summer 2021 :)
