16 degrees on a Monday
COVID-19, “The Rona Era”
This is the last week of winter!! He is not going out quietly. I’m glad there is no snow on the ground but damn. The wind is fierce, cold, and not stopping. I think my face and hands frozen this morning. I still must be adjusting to day light savings time because I made the decision ( not the smartest one) to walk on Deer Island. I assumed the wind wouldn’t be so bad around this island. I was wrong. Even the seagulls and the other birds could not fly straight. They were struggling. What made my struggle a bit better was the push for the wind. At some points it felt like resistance training and others was an encouragement to run, though I know better.
I only saw one person walking and another person riding their bike along the island. The 16 degrees and fierce wind put an extra pep in my step to keep going. Not a lot of pictures or pausing to take in the scenery, girlfriend had to go. I did stop short of my 5k walking goal. I did check off 2.62 miles this morning.
This is how Monday starts.
