Last a.m. walk before kicking Tyrone out.
COVID-19, “ The Rona Era”
Today is the Re-Excision Lumpectomy day. At 10 a.m. I have to go to the hospital for this procedure. There are still some cancer cells around the margins in my breast that have to be removed. The good thing, I know what to expect from the Lumpectomy three weeks ago. Hopefully the healing process won’t be extended, so I can start running again. I know, patience is what I need.
Before surgery I went for a morning walk. Last time, February 18th I went on my last run before the lumpectomy. Which is reality wasn’t that long ago but it feels like it.
Today I walked on part of Revere Beach and then I walked toward Short Beach in Winthrop. The walking bonus was finding another path to Belle Isle Marsh. There was a sign that said Pathways: Patience, Persistence, and Perseverance. I need to always keep that in mind. P3. I would have walked longer for a 5k but I didn’t have time. Which in hindsight, I should have made the time for .30 more miles. I walked 2.70 miles, which was great and calming. I had time to breathe, think, and cry a bit. The beauty of walking/ running is the emotional release. Walking gave me pause to get my mind right before part II. While thinking, I decided to name my cancer Tyrone. Today was the day to kick the rest of Tyrone out. Just like the song by Erykah Badu…Tyrone.
