Year of the Ox
COVID-19, ‘The Rona Era”
Frizzy Friday!! Yet, another week of craziness. This morning it is 14 degrees out. I probably shouldn’t run, yet, the weather is in the double digits, so doable. Also, this is the last Friday I’ll be able to run because next Friday I will be recovering from breast surgery. I probably won’t be running for a couple of weeks if not more. My goal is to get all the running in while I can. Bring on 14 degrees.
Today, I ran along the Mystic River Reservations, one of my go to spots. It was cold AF. The clear blue sky and the iced river completely told the story of the weather. I had a good strong run this morning. Rest, strength training( shred workout), and the cold made for a good pace. Besides the two runners that passed me, no one was out on the path.
4.07 miles, 10:18min/mil pace at 41:55. I had to be careful because some of the path was covered by ice and snow. I could have cut down my time more. It was good to be out and breathe in the air. Thou, my face and hands, when exposed to the cold felt a bit frozen, the rest of my body was good. I really needed to have more cold wear running gear on. I wasn’t layered up as I should have been.
The miles got done for this year of the OX. Strong, bold, determined. Year of the runner?
