Halloween 5k x2
COVID-19, “The Rona Era”
Halloween is on a Sunday this year. The last day of the month. What should be a calm, fall day was not. 8a.m. was the 5k run or 1 mile walk to celebrate the one year anniversary of TrailBlazhers. This is an all female empowering running group, started by three black women. I love these ladies. They are young and have the energy and talent to get bodies moving in. In a year, they have a contract with Puma, got a $7500 for the BAA( Boston Athletic Associations) , had a bra run, and so much more. I had to go run and support. Their run at the Puma store at Assembly Row. Many people dressed and ran in costumes. It was fun and chill . Plus we got an amazing adult trick or treat goody bag.
After that event I went back to the Iowan’s place to shower, change, rest, and modify my costume- wings, tiara, and some beads, for the 3pm. 5k Road of the Rainbow run. This race was on the Boston Commons and it was the first LGTBQ+ 5k in Boston. That was a shocker to believe.
Instead of running, I walked a 5k with the Iowan. His first 5k race. IT was a lovely afternoon. So many people and animals, mostly dogs were dressed up. At the race their were gorgeous drag queens to mic the event.
After we were finished, it rained of course, then there was a rainbow. We couldn’t make it up, for this Rainbow 5k event. Lots of running and support for diverse running groups and events in the city .
