Friday 5k moonlit run
COVID-19, ‘The Rona Era”
It’s Friday! Frizzy Friday. Yes. And it is a warm fall morning at 65 degrees out. I saw the Pelvic floor PT doctor and she gave me exercises to do everyday, twice a day until I see her next week. Yesterday she showed me an amazing virtual 3D moving picture of the muscles around the pelvic floor and their connection to the upper thigh muscles, rectal muscles, and back and spine muscles. She demonstrated when she is feeling around on the first, second, and third layer of muscles, where they were.
Anyway, I had homework to do. I wanted to make sure I did exercises before I started to run. This morning I wanted to venture out. I hadn’t run along the Charles for a while.
I drove to the North Point, across the street from the Museum of Science. Parking is always challenging. Reading signs are helpful. The free parking I found is open until 8a.m., they you get towed. I was not going to be around until 8 a.m. so I was good.
My one epic failure was forgetting to put on a sports bra. My soft and lovely True Bra is not meant for running. Here I was at North Point ready to run. I had to make do.
I ran under the Zakim bridge and by the Gardens to Tremont Street. I headed south down Tremont, pass Mass General, Charles/MGH T stop and Liberty hotel until I reached the Charles Esplanade. Once on the Esplanade I ran towards the Museum of Science.
It was about a 5k run. My run app was pausing and restarting which made tracking difficult.
On a high note, the moon was still out and the city lights were still on and bright downtown. I did feel as if I was running alone in the city for a while. It was a good morning to run.
