Foggy Track Tuesday
COVID-19, “ The Rona Era”
Monday was an extremely busy day. Boston Marathon Monday, Indigenous People’s Day, National Coming Out Day, and I had pelvic Floor Physical Therapy. No running for me on Sunday or Monday. That’s why Tiffany Track Tuesday had to happen today.
This morning it was dark and foggy so I had to wear the headlight. Sidenote: order more headlight and reflective gear.
It has been a while since a Track Tuesday workout happen. Usually Track Tuesdays are four miles. 1 mile to the track, 3 miles on the track, 1 mile home.
No one was out this morning. I made sure to run by all the street lights as I made my way towards the track. I did see some folks walking to their cars to go to work at 5:45a.m.
When I reached the track, I saw one person on the track. I could see their silhouette. I was the only person, while running that had a headlight. Slowly, more people came on the track. I think there was an exercise group and a high school soccer team.
It might be nice to be privilege, to not worry about having a headlight or some kind of reflective gear while running, working out, and walking in the dark. The majority of people I saw were the men folks.
Some of the ladies I saw looked younger than me. I wanted to pull them aside and say “ Hey, girl, where’s you light. Don’t run in the dark.”
Everyone could see me without question. After I hit 3 miles. I did a round of stadium steps before I ran the 1 mile home.
As I was running home, the sun was slowly starting to come out. I felt good and strong this morning.
