Saturday City Space
COVID-19 “The Rona Era”
This is memorial day weekend. Clearly it is not like the memorial days of the past. To start the weekend I wanted to get in a long Saturday run but I also wanted to rest and sleep in. Sleeping in would be great because Friday was exhausting but it is going to be 68 degrees on Saturday morning. All the conflicts, all the personal struggles. Instead of running at 5a.m, I ran at 7 a.m. on Saturday. It was warm, sunny, and a bit muggy at 7a.m.
I dealt with the warm weather and people being out. Lots of people running and walking along the Charles River, the route I was going to run on for Saturday. I was not a happy camper. So I kept on driving to find a place to run. As I drove through the city I realized that the city was empty and I could run in downtown Boston. I parked my car and ran along the Boston Marathon route, Copley Square, and BackBay. I had space to ran and I barely ran into any people. This was a nice Saturday surprise. Today was not the long run but I will make sure Sunday will be.
