10k Thursday in the burbs
COVID-19, “The Rona Era”
Yesterday it was super cold and I was super tired. I did not leave my house to run. I did do 30 minutes of Chloe Ting Body Shred Challenge. I don’t understand why I end up sweating bullets and ms. Chloe has not a single drip of sweat…seriously. I checked the box for moving my body.
Today, Thursday, I wanted to make up for not running for 10k a.m. humpday. Since I was staying at my bf’s house, I packed so I could run there in the morning. At 5:30 a.m. I was out the door. I had no idea where to run since I normally don’t run in Woburn, Massachusetts. I had a sense of the direction towards “ downtown.” I strapped on the headlight and ran out.
This was a different vibe. It was dark, quiet, and things( building, houses, streets) were spread out and wide. Unlike my East Boston running experience.
It was a warm 45 degrees for running. I took notice of the holiday lights and decorations in people’s yard. As I ran into the downtown area I saw a group of runners( 4-5) of them running together with their reflective gear. There I was on the otherside of the street, the lone runner. Of course they were moving too fast for me to catch up with them. Damn pack runners.
I ran around the downtown holiday celebration with lights, the nativity scene, snowmen, penguins and carolers. When I ran passed it I was another runner. A lone runner with reflective gear running. I checked my watch and I was 2.75 miles in. I figure if I run back and then run a bit on the Tri-Community Greenway, I can reach a 10k!
I went beyond a 10k. 6.24 miles 1:06:29 10:29min/mil. At think at some point, I want to get back to running a 10k in 1:00:00.
