Breathing
COVID-19, “The Rona Era”
Yup, Saturday they called it. Joe Biden is the 46th president of the U.S. Kamala Harris is the first black woman to be Vice-President. We had to wait four long and painful days until we knew about the election results.
Today, Sunday, I just want to run, walk, breathe, and think clearly for a bit. I want to run in Franklin Park today and be around the African-American Community. The fall colors were so vibrant and it was nice to be running in nature. Even my stalkers appreciated the day and the weekend news.
My goal was to do 4 miles but I did two. What happened was…………I ran into my BGR ambassador, Black Men Run, and Girls on the Run folks. They planned on doing a 7 mile long run together this morning. They wanted to know if I was going to join them. Luckily I had already put in miles. Plus I wanted to enjoy the rest of the warm sunny day because Monday, I’ll be back at it.
This was my happy and safe black. I was surrounded by a community that is powerful, strong, and keeps on pushing back. Today is a good day
