Global Running Day

Global Running Day

I pledged to run 6 miles for Global Running Day. I would have run it anyway because it’s 10k a.m. humpday run. Today I wanted to run through the city and wear my international running gear which is my Paris Marathon shirt. I wanted to run in my favorite type of places to run, which are city pavements and near water. This morning I checked off both in 6.14 miles.

As I ran I thought about my running journey which started 6 years ago. I have walk before I could run. Well, I had to get out of bed, which is really where the struggle starts. All the miles I most have put on my numerous shoes. I’m thinking I have run at least 1,000 miles. This year alone, I thought about all the marathon training running and how I ran in Paris France, Yankton, South Dakota, and Buycus, Kansas. Lots of running in all kinds of places.

I’ve run with my #girlgang in many races and cheered them on running. I would never how thought about running or the path that it has taken me on. Who knew? I’m proud to say that I am a runner. I run my way, my pace, and I have a runner’s body. I am apart of a community of runners who you would not see on the cover of a runner’s magazine. I am part of a community who’s connected to place, race, and community. I’m apart of wonderful group.
