Post Rain Running
It was all good for a Saturday a.m. run until the torrential downpours, lightening, and thunder happened. My plan was to get a 4-5 mile run in before the road to wellness training clinic. I parked at Franklin Park to start my run, until….. the rain. The rain was not light. It started coming down hard and I heard thunder. My little black ass was going to stay in my car. Granted this was at 6:30a.m. and the clinic didn’t start until 9a.m. I hoped that it would stop by then.
This of course was the time that I didn’t pack my computer or any reading materials. After a while, I said screw it and drove to get a coffee. I took my sweet time. After about an hour the rain became a light drizzle. I can run in a light drizzle, it’s doable. I ran for two miles and saw the old part of the Franklin Park Zoo, which was funky and cool. By that time, it was close to 9a.m.
We had a good turn out considering the rain and the new location for training. At this point, the rain had completely stopped and the muggy and the buggy came out. Then again, it’s summer. I shouldn’t be surprised just be prepared. Today’s workout was 6 up and down hill runs. Oh joy!
It wasn’t bad and the training went fast. Overall it was a good post rain running saturday
