Ooops ran to New Jeresy
While away, I always try to get a run in. Since I would be in Philly conferencing and presenting a paper over the next days, I had to try to get a couple of runs in. Today I ran across the Benjamin Franklin Bridge to Camden, New Jersey. It was about 1.5 miles each way. I packed my head light with me because it's getting light later and I didn't know if it would be light or dark at 5:30a.m. in Philly.
I won't lie it was exciting and scary to run across the bridge. I was high and surrounded by water, cars, and trains. I only saw 3 people( 1 man) running across the bridge during that time. My reward was to see Rugters University, the Camden campus. The closer I ran to New Jersey the narrower the walking/running path became. There were signs that told bike riders to get off and walk their bike because it was so narrow. Luckily, there wasn't mass walking/running traffic on the bridge.
I loved that I ran over the Delaware and got to run in PA an NJ The last time I did that was state #18 and #7. I hadn't done east coast/mid Atlantic states running in a while. This is what happens when you have 13 states left and you've finished running all the states east of the mississippi.
