Struggle is always real
Last Sunday in July. I needed to end the last sunday with a long run. I ran to Revere Beach and Back. 10.50 miles for a.m. run. Since it has been hot the last couple of days, so many people were on the beach before 6a.m. I mostly saw young adults in groups, rolling on the sand, listening to music, doing other things. And to my surprise the sand sculptures were still standing. The international competition was a week ago and we've had some really bad and heavy rains, yet they still were standing.
One of the sculptures that stood out to me was the working labor conflict. That's how I see it. Very marxist. There is always an ongoing struggle and conflict for resources. From having the access to exercise in healthy affordable food, green spaces, affordable and safe housing to having the economic means to have the "right" workout gear. For running shoes along can start at $150. There is a battle for health, battle for representation of yourselves. There is a battle in regards to social class for something that everyone should have easy access to.
There is a struggle that is ongoing. When I reached this sculpture, it was around 5 miles and I struggled back to run home to finish my mileage.
