Gendered and Water Views

And its going to be 90 degrees today?! Hello summer. 4 miles completed on am Monday run before 6:30am in 75 degree weather. Oh to be back in the Bean and running along the Atlantic ocean. I do appreciate my water running views. They are all so different, from #27 Lake Michigan to #26   Shenandoah and Potomac River. There is something about the water and seeing the city skyline that is very comforting to me.

Since it was so early and bright( sunrise at 5:05am) this morning, people were already out for the work week. It was mostly men I saw this morning. There is a lot of new construction in my neighborhood. Many of the men were in their cars waiting to start work. I am fully aware of the stares, brief looks I received while running.  I always take notice of thisgendered dynamics. If the men weren't going off to work, I saw several men( at this early hour), sitting along the water, smoking,drinking or just laying on the grass. 

Besides there being no runners, there were no women in sight this morning expect the four women I saw waiting for a ride for work. I'm sure there might have been women on the buses that passed me by but I was only aware of the looks of the men and boys whom I passed while running.
