New York Marathon Running Support

Saturday was a day of rest. Today, Sunday I needed to get a long run in to get ready for State #31. My goal was 10 miles but it ended up being 9.6. Poor eating, less water, and lots of wine drinking on Saturday night makes for a tired a.m. run.

Actually, Saturday I was presenting research on Black Women Running at Brown University, then I hung out with my amazing colleagues afterward for Water Fire in Providence.

I am thankful that today started Daylight savings time. We fall back and I got an extra hour of sleep and was able to run in the light not the dark. :). whoo-whoo.

As I was running I was facing some obstacles on the flat pavement..ie.. mud and water. I know this is nothing compared to my sole sistas that are running the New York Marathon today. Today was my ode to them. :)
