Fall Track Tuesday
COVID-19, “ The Rona Era”
I did not go to Track Tuesday because of my knee. My knee still isn’t 100% but I couldn’t miss another Track Tuesday. I could physically show up and support. I just couldn’t run. It has been 14 days since I last ran and was at Track Tuesday. Feeling 85% better. Not 100% yet.
Hell, I was showing up. It was a nippy morning. Fall kicked the door into spring and said I am here. I wear my knee compression sleeve, had on my pacer gear and made it to Track Tuesday. The good thing was the scheduled workout. 24 x 200s. 6 sets at 10kpace, 5k pace, 5k pace, and mile pace. For the red time it’s around 1:11; 1::08; 1:06 per the 200s. This would have been a great one to run if I was 100%.
MB had a great plan. She would be at one end of the track and I would be at another. The red team would have a pacer at the 200m points. It worked out. Red time did an amazing job.
The energy and vibe is what I needed. It felt so good to be with the TT folks. I even got more advise about the knee. Do a lot of biking and things that don’t put too much pressure on my knees. So noted.
Making progress. Considering it has been 14 days, I have come a long way. From RICE method, Steroid shot, fluid being drained seeing the orthopedic doctor, going to acupuncture, and buying a variety of knee compression sleeves. A lot has happened in such a little time.
