4th of July: Fiyah Cracker Jam

4th of July: Fiyah Cracker Jam

COVID-19, “ The Rona Era”

Well it’s 4th of July. The 6th annual Fiyah Cracker run starts at 6a.m. at Castle Island. This fourth of July is like no other. With a contentious election in November all of the backward White Christian Nationalism issues that are going on, things are a bit heavy, scary, and worrisome for Democracy. And I also think to Fredrick Douglass Speech on the 4th of July. What to the Slave is the 4th of July?

The happy of the morning is the Fiyah Cracker run. Luckily, it’s nice and cool. We had such a good turn out and KB was always on point with setting up the BGR table and lots of free give aways. Brandy came and warmed us up. Before most folks did a 3 or 4 mile walk/run. I opted for a miler for the 4th.

I ran 4.01 miles; 10:55 pace and 43:45mins. I still need to work on my mileage. I know I will need the 20 weeks to get ready. It was a good day this morning. I finished just before 7:30a.m. Now the day can get started.
