Thursdays morning colors
Covid-19, “The Rona Era”
The last time I ran was the BAA 5k that was on Saturday April 13th. I’m off my running game because the last two weeks have been crazy. A week in New Orleans for a conference - I did get a couple of runs in. And then getting ready for all the Boston Marathon activities the following week. In other words “ life be life-in”. I’m about 15 days away from the Flying Pig Half Marathon. That translate to a week and a half of getting back on the horse.
This morning, the struggle was real. Today was my first day running this week. I debated between a 5k and a 10k. I settled on 4 miles. I wanted to slowly adjust back to running. Today I ran around Horn Pond. To my surprise and delight, the sky was painted with beautiful colors. It looked so fake but it was real.
I was excited to get my run going, so I could run into the colors. With Spring , sunrise is around 5:59a.m.
I drove to Horn Pond, a bit faster than normal, I will admit. It was around 5:50a.m. when I got there and 47 degrees.
I saw 6 runners and a handful of walkers. As usual, the first mile was a bit of the warm-up. I was trying to find my stride. This was the perfect morning for running and I was dressed for it.
I went around the pond twice for 4 miles.
4.21 miles- 45:48; 10:56 pace. Not bad.
