Thursday is feeling like Spring
COVID-19, “ The Rona Era”
Another spring like day in winter. It was a bit windy but it was 40s, quiet, and dark out. This morning I ran along the Mystic River by Assembly Row. I saw four runners with headlights out on the path. I made sure to have my headlight. What I didn’t take into account is how they dressed. The runners did not have on many layers. That should have been my clue. I “ over layered” and got hot, very quickly. Note to self. I had my winter hat, headlight, gloves, long sleeve shirt and two outer layers. One was needed. This morning, I tried something different. I went commando. No underwear for me. I must say it wasn’t bad. I might have actually liked it.
It has been a while since I ran along the Mystic. This was the perfect weather and time to run it: 5:58a.m. on a Thursday morning at 40 degrees. I felt strong but I did feel tired a bit. It’s the nutrition. I have to get that under control. After mile 3 I was good. Of course stopping to take pictures didn’t help my time.
5:07 miles_ 55:17mins ; 10:54 pace. It’s early January and it’s about Progression not Perfection. My goal is a 10k in an hour. It will come.
