Disrespectful Morning heat
COVID-19, “The Rona Era”
Today is going to be another hot one. It is july and summer, so why am I surprised. The earlier I get up and run the better. This morning it was 71 degrees by 5 a.m. I wanted to sleep in a bit longer. It’s only going to get hotter and if I wait til 6a.m. to start running I will be pissy. I wanted to avoid that. I wanted to run 10k this morning. I had to get up.
By 5:45a.m. I was out. Slow and steady that was my mantra. I made sure to find shade and any cool breeze that might come my way. To be honest it wasn’t bad. My body felt good and strong. I just got hot but it was doable. I ran through Bremnan street park- lots of trees and shade. I continued to the greenway connector to run to Constitution Beach. That plan got changed because the gate on the pathway was still locked. Bumper.
So I turned around and ran back. It was still in the low 70s for my morning run and I had lots of sweat and attune. People were walking to the T in droves. The Sumner Tunnel will be shut down for 8 weeks and the Blue line is free in that time. It was kind of busy. And the runners and walkers were out. I did see a black man running, we smiled and gave each other nods. I ran 4 miles and garmin clocked me in at 9:51- pace. finishing in 39:33. That could be possible. As long as I keep my body moving with miles, I’m good.
