Deer Island
COVID-19, “ The Rona Era”
On the plate today: 5 miles. I wasn’t sure where to run. Do I ran in my hood, Revere Beach, or Deer Island. I went to Deer Island because it has been a while. The mistake I made was not getting out of the house earlier. I knew traffic and the two lane roads would be an issue. I went there anyway.
Around 6:28a.m. is when I started to run. The overcast of clouds blocked anything light that might have tried to get through. I know I sound like a broken record but I need to work on my nutrition and hydration. I shouldn’t feel tired. Heck, I was at strength training yesterday and felt great. I do need to eat and drink more frequently.
It was quiet around Deer Island. I saw two people running and three walkers. There is a calm and beauty to looking at the city skyline over the over. I always enjoy these running views. As light was coming in, I knew I had to keep running to reach 5 miles. There was no half assing this.
5.04 miles; 56:48; 11:16 pace. If I properly fueled my body, I might be around a 10:30 pace.
Something to strive for.
