Friday REI 5k my way

COVID-19, “The Rona Era”

It’s Friday and it feels like fall. This morning it’s 62 degrees and I have chill bumps on my arm. I’m not complaining considering the heatwave we have had all week long. Of course this is perfect running weather and I can’t run. Ugh. Today marks 3 weeks post surgery recovery. Half way there. Just 3 more weeks then I can run.

In the meantime, REI Cambridge is having a 5k walk/run today. Since BGR has a partnership with them, I was the “ talent” for the Summer 2022 catalog, and one of the ambassadors for the Boston 10k for women race, sponsored by REI, I thought I should go to the Friday 5k.

I really like the ladies and the staff at REI cambridge. Overall great people and great vibes. It would be nice to walk and have company.

We were going to start at 8:30 a.m., which is late for me. This wasn’t my show. I felt sneaky because I was able to go into the store before they opened at 11a.m. It was cool meeting some new folks and learning that Banks, the dog would be joining us.

Once we figured out who the walkers and runners were going to be, then it was on.
