Monday and Geese fest
COVID-19, “ The Rona Era”
I really tried to wake up early today. I knew it was going to be hot and I wanted to get out before it did. My plan was to start running at 5:30a.m. But that did not happened. I got up, made coffee and half ass stretched. I planned on stretching when I got to Mystic River Reservation. At 5:30a.m when I left the house, it was bright. Thankfully it was cool.
When I got to the river it was quiet. I didn’t hear anything for the stalkers. I did do a better job stretching when I was outside. Today I had on shorts. I was ready for the 65 degree morning weather. I started my running pace.
To be honest, I felt a bit heavy. I was still in recovery for Satruday’s 80 degree deck drinking and snacking. I wasn’t surprised when I got on the scale this morning and I was three pounds heavier. I know what I did.
So I continued my slow starting run. I’m grateful that it was peaceful. The rowers were out rowing and I slowly started to see walkers and runners along the mystic.
I was doing my think when I came upon the geese. It was geese take over. They literally blocked my path. It was too early to get into a geese fight. I had to run around them.
The later in the morning, 6:30am - ish when I saw more geese and people. I kept on running along. Somehow I ended up running 5 miles. That wasn’t my plan. It was good to run those many miles.
I need to make sure I have enough fuel in my body to keep going. This week I need to get ready for state #48. This is a good start to the week.
