Thursday 7 miler
COVID-19, “The Rona Era”
It’s going to be in the mid 40s today. This morning, it’s 37 degrees at 5:35a.m. Clearly, I don’t need a lot of layers. I wanted to run 8 miles this morning. I ran 7.15 instead. I ventured out to Castle Island for my long run. It’s been an extremely long time since I’ve been out that way. I miscalculated my mileage, oh well.
The warm morning weather brought out all the runners. I’m going to assume they are training for Boston or a spring marathon. I saw groups of runners, pairs of runners, and even some folks running solo like me. Oddly, as dark as it was, I was the only person with a reflective light on while running. Even the women that were running solo, I was amazed that they ran without any light because it was dark this morning.
I’m still in post holiday/ not running for 5 days mode. I’m need I need more rest, fuel, hydration, and stretching. It took me until mile 3 to find a groove. This the was furthest that I have run in a while. The goal for Saturday is 10 miles. I have 17 weeks to work on all of this. I want to make sure that I don’t over or under train. Staying strong and healthy is the goal.
7.15 miles; 11”14 mile pace, 1:20:22 time.
