Friday 5k Pond Run
COVID-19, “ The Rona Era”
The struggle is real. The snooze button was hit three times this morning. It’s Friday and this has been a week. It’s the week before thanksgiving break, my period just started, and the students are testing me. Clearly I need to run and move my body.
This morning I ran around Horn Pond. It was 6:30a.m. when I went there. The good news is that there was light and it was not dark. No headlight needed but I was layered and had on the winter running tights.
The colors around the pond were stunning. The sunlight of the morning hit those red and yellow leaves in the right spots. I ran with confidence with leaves all over the ground. At right it was quiet- no people. All of the sudden it seems like the walkers and walkers with dogs came out of nowhere.
I made my loop around- 2miles. Then I started but up again for a second loop when I looked at the time. I had to run about 2.60 miles before turning back for 3.30miles total. A bit more than a 5k but not 4 miles.
Saturday, when there are no meetings to prepare and get to, I’ll have more time for more miles.
