From the garden to the beach 5k
COVID-19, “The Rona Era”
Today is the 14th. It’s a 10k a.m. humpday, that won’t happen. And it’s the first day of Radiation. Unfortunately my first appointment is at 12:45pm, which is so late. I was told, after the first day, then I can schedule a consistent different time . I need to figure out my walking/running radiation schedule. For now, it’s good to get in the walk/run.
Of course it’s foggy and raining out. I’m not going to not run. I just slapped on my running hat and started walking out the door. This groin “ annoyance” is really getting on my nerves. I hope relief will come soon. I’m trying to be smart and ease back into the running game. I got in my car to drive to the beach for a beach run. The weather is crappy. I parked my Brenman Street park for my walk.
My plan is for a two miler this morning. I walked/ran to Brenman street park. The sunflowers were bursting out. Then I thought, I could walk to Constitution Beach. Normally when I run from my house to the beach, it’s 4 miles round trip. Since I drove, I can walk a mile and back to the car.
There were many people walking. Walking in pairs. I know people walk solo but this morning I had the title of solo runner/walker all to myself.
I put miles in behind Wood Island T stop and made it to Constitution Beach. The beach empty expect for a man and his dog. You could barely see the water because it was so foggy. The sand had just been cleaned.
Made a loop to walk/run back. The beauty of living in an urban space is the proximity to parks, beaches, and public transportation.
