Mother's Day Run
COVID-19, “The Rona Era”
This is the second Mother’s Day celebration in the pandemic. I remember last mother’s day, I went hiking and exploring in Glendale Falls, out in western Massachusetts. Hopefully, next Mother’s Day I’ll be able to run in a half marathon race, until then, I ran 5 miles today. This will be nine years of not having my mother physically here. It gets better but it still hurts.
This morning it was a bit breezy but sunny. I wanted to run downtown and by the water. The theme of the run was my mom, love, and celebrating black women. As I ran, I thought about my mom and how she loved flowers, exploring, art and taking in the sights. This is what this run was about.
53:43, 5:10miles; 10:32 min/ml.
