Sweating Friday
COVID-19, “The Rona Era”
It’s a Frizzy Friday! 51 degrees, sunny, and it feels completely like spring. A real spring. Joy! I decided to run in Charlestown because I haven’t in a long time. I didn’t have on much layers today. I had debated putting on shorts because it feels like shorts would be appropriate but I didn’t. My choice was a light spring legging and jacket.
The last time I ran in Charlestown was around the Christmas holidays. There were holiday decorations everywhere. Beyond the decorations, I had passed a house with had “ black lives matter”, “say their names”, written on their brick wall. I ran by the brick wall and most of the names on the brick wall were gone. Which was sad to me. I ran on the back side of Charlestown, under the Tobin bridge and up a hill to make it to Bunker Hill Monument. By 7a.m. there was a lot of activity going on. There was an exercise class, dog walker/hanging out crowd, individual folks working out, and people walking and running.
I tried to do some some squats and push-ups because I felt inspired a bit. I did a bit of sweating as well. Lots of sweating, to be clear. I kept on going. I had a good stride this morning, which felt great. I really enjoyed the run and exploring the spaces.
On a sad note, my running app paused on me and I didn’t know it. My app stopped at 3.38 miles. My goal was 4 miles and I think I ran more than 3.38 but less than 4.
Overall, Friday’s a.m. started off on a good note.
